Legal Ethics

Here is yesterday's decision from the Delaware Supreme Court that serves as a reminder that Delaware's highest court takes very seriously its role as enforcer of the ethics rules that apply to lawyers.

A public reprimand? This strikes me as a very lenient result. It hardly suggests that the DSC takes the professional rules "very seriously"---which isn't to say they don't (to the contrary, they do), but I'm not sure what signal this case sends.

I see your point. There are other examples of much harsher penalties that might highlight their role in a more obvious way.
