Legal Ethics Require Software Knowledge

A recent ethics decision addressing the obligation of attorneys to maintain confidentiality, determined that the duty applies to avoiding the disclosure of metadata, which is data that is often imbedded in the electronic version of documents, but which is not always viewable on the hard copy.
